We all have those chores that we really don't like to do. For me it is unstacking the dishwasher and folding clothes. Really both of them take less than 10 minutes (timed them) to accomplish but they seem like they take FOREVER and are so tedious. I should consider myself blessed that I have dishes to unstack and clothes to fold.
Years ago daughter was in therapy and one of the things the therapist recommended was that I assign chores for her to do. The therapist suggested unstacking the dishes. I told her I could not give daughter a chore I despised doing. She asked me why. I said it didn't seem fair to pawn off a chore I didn't like to someone else.
Years later I still struggle with those 2 chores. Honestly, I would pay someone to come and do those 2 chores. Is that pathetic or what? Ten minutes a few times a week and I would pay good money. Any takers?
I'm okay with the other chores. I can clean the kitchen, the bathrooms, vacuum, wash the floors, etc. I'm old school. I was raised by a mother that said a floor is not clean unless it is washed on your hands and knees. I still get down on my hands and knees at my age (close to 60). Its not pretty when I get up, but the floors are washed on my hands and knees. (I'm a bit deconditioned).
I said it before, I clean something most days so the house is never entirely clean but never entirely dirty. Most chores take about 20-30 minutes. Easy peasy. Unless it is unstacking the dishes (several times a week) or folding laundry (one time per week).
Dusting can stretch wayyyyyy out here. I really don't need to dust every week. The dust just doesn't accumulate that much here. I can run my finger over something after a week between dusting and the finger is immaculate. No dust streaks there. I can go about 4 weeks (if I'm lucky) between dusting. I really don't have that much to dust. I don't have knickknacks. Not much to move around.
I got off schedule. I'm not sure when the last time I dusted but it still looks "okay." So I should dust, but I really don't need to dust. Make sense?
So maybe I'll dust tomorrow, but more likely I won't.
What chores will you be doing tomorrow and will you tolerate them or despise them like I do with the dishwasher and the laundry?
